Berdasarkan hal ini, maka rumah yang mereka tinggali konstruksinya juga sering diubahsuaikan dengan aktivitasnya tersebut, misalnya mirip pada konstruksi rumah tabiat Baanjung yang berupa rumah pangung.

Rumah adat Baanjung yakni nama dari rumah tabiat Kalimantan Selatan, salah satu rumah tabiat yang cukup unik gaya arsitekturnya. Berikut ini klarifikasi mengenai Rumah tabiat tersebut secara lengkap mulai dari konstruksi, gambar, dan filosofinya.

Sekilas Tentang Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan

Terletak di bab selatan Pulau Kalimantan, provinsi ini beribukota di Banjarmasin. Kalimantan Selatan terdiri dari 11 kabupaten dan 2 kota yaitu, Kota Banjarbaru dan Kota Banjarmasin. Dalam bahasa Banjar, ba-anjung berarti beranjung atau bersayap. Hal ini terlihat dari adanya sayap bangunan yang menjorok dari samping kiri dan kanan bangunan utama. Sayap ini merupakan bangunan embel-embel di kanan kiri rumah.

Kayu ulin, kayu lanan, dan kayu damar putih merupakan material utama yang dipakai dalam konstruksi dan bangunan rumah tabiat Kalimantan Selatan ini. Konstruksi Rumah

Rumah Baanjung mempunyai tubuh yang berbentuk lurus memanjang ke depan dengan tiang sebagai pondasinya. Tiang merupakan pondasi utama yang sangat diperhatikan dalam pembangunan rumah Baanjung. Untuk pondasi tiang umumnya dipakai kayu kapur naga atau kayu galam, sedangkan untuk tiang penunjang dipakai material berupa kayu ulin.

Bubungan atap Rumah tabiat Kalimantan Selatan ini berbentuk segitiga dengan atap tinggi melancip (disebut dengan Bubungan Tinggi), memanjang ke depan (disebut dengan atap Sindang Langit) dan memanjang ke belakang (disebut atap Hambin Awan).

Rangka atap memakai kayu dan ditutupi dengan sirap atau rumbia. Lantainya tersusun dari papan kayu ulin yang disebut dengan lantai jarang atau lantai ranggang. Pembagian Ruangan

Rumah Baanjung terbagi atas beberapa ruangan, yaitu ruang terbuka, ruang setengah terbuka, dan ruang dalam.

Ruang terbuka disebut juga Palatar atau teras atau Pamedangan. Terletak di bab depan rumah dengan luas sekitar 7 x 3 meter. Di teras ini diletakkan daerah air yang dipakai untuk membasuh kaki sebelum masuk ke rumah.

Ruang setengah terbuka disebut juga lapangan pademangan. Ruang ini difungsikan sebagai beranda atau teras rumah.

Ruang dalam terdiri atas beberapa bab di antaranya pacira, panampik kacil, panampik tangah, dan beberapa bab lain.
  1. Pacira. Terdiri dari pacira luar dan pacira dalam. Pacira luar terletak sesudah pintu depan (disebut dengan Lawang Hadapan). Pacira dalam merupakan daerah untuk menyimpan alat-alat pertanian, alat penangkap ikan dan pertukangan.
  2. Panampik kacil. Dapat ditemukan sesudah lawang hadapan yang merupakan ruang tamu dengan lantai yang lebih tinggi aripada palatar.
  3. Panampik tangah. Ruangan ini merupakan ruang tamu di bab tengah rumah dengan lantai yang lebih tinggi daripada lantai panampik kacil.
  4. Panampik basar. Merupakan ruang tamu bab dalam dengan lantai yang lebih tinggi daripada lantai panampik tangah.
  5. Padapuran atau padu. Terletak di bab belakang rumah yang dipakai sebagai daerah untuk kegiatan masak-memasak dan kegiatan tumah tangga.

Nilai-Nilai Filosofi

1. Dwitunggal semesta

Pada bab atas rumah terdapat gesekan naga yang melambangkan alam bawah dan pada bab atas rumah terdapat gesekan elang gading yang melambangkan alam atas. Suku Banjar mempercayai bahwa rumah merupakan daerah sakral dimana Yang Maha Esa juga ikut tinggal di dalamnya.

2. Payung dan pohon hayat

Jika dilihat sekilas, atap rumah tabiat Kalimantan Selatan berbentuk mirip payung. Hal ini melambangkan kekuasaan dan tingkat kebangsawanan. Selain berbentuk segitiga, atap rumah Baanjung ini juga membumbung tinggi mirip pohon hayat. Pohon hayat dipercaya sebagai cerminan dari banyak sekali aspek yang menyatukan dunia. 3. Tubuh manusia

Suku Banjar mengibaratkan rumah mirip tubuh manusia. Bagian atap mirip kepala, tubuh rumah mirip badan, tiang-tiang penyangga mirip kaki dan anjung mirip ajun dan kiri. Setiap bab rumah dibentuk simetris yang mewakili kehidupan yang seimbang, baik kehidupan sehari-hari maupun kehidupan dalam pemerintahan.

4. Ruangan yang bersusun

Memasuki rumah tabiat Baanjung mirip menaiki tangga. Setiap memasuki satu ruangan maka akan menaiki satu anak tangga, alasannya letak ruangan yang semakin dalam semakin tinggi lalu rendah dikala memasuki bab belakang rumah. Hal ini melambangkan tata krama Suku Banjar yang kental yang sangat menghormati si pemilik rumah.
